Artist Biography

William Blair was born and brought up in Belfast. He studied art and education at Stranmillis College and has worked as a painter and teacher of art throughout his career. He has exhibited throughout Ireland, and paints large scale landscapes in an abstract style, though rooted in the physical reality of life and land here in this country. His paintings deal with the impact people have on the land, and with the emotional tie they develop with a sense of place. He currently works in Antrim and Donegal.
