Artist Biography

Frances Ryan, born Longford 1960 Education 1992-1997 Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design, Dublin Awards 2008 Residency at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Co. Mayo 2007 Fellowship with the Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Co. Mayo 2007 Residency with the Cill Rialaig Project in Co. Kerry 2003 Custom House Studios, Westport, Co. Mayo – Residency 2003 KPMG Award, Oireachtas Annual Exhibition, Dublin 1997 Heinrich Boll Residency, Achill Island, Co. Mayo Frances has also received the prestigious Paul Henry Landscape Prize at the Royal Ulster Academy in Belfast. She has had solo shows with the Mullan Gallery, Belfast; Hammond Gallery, Co. Cork and the Custom House Gallery in Westport, Co. Mayo. Her work has been acquired for the AIB Art Collection, the Boyle Civic Collection (Co. Roscommon), the Northern Ireland Civil Service, the Office of Public Works and the Four Seasons Hotel Group. Frances now lives and works in Bangor, Co. Down.
